Sherry
Licensed Agent & Client Advocate
With over a decade of insurance experience and a heart for serving others, Sherry is a trusted and compassionate member of the Historic Coast Insurance team. She holds a 4-40 Customer Representative License, a 20-44 Personal Lines License, and a 2-15 Life & Health License, allowing her to assist clients across a wide range of needs.
Sherry’s background in criminal justice and her natural attention to detail make her a strong advocate for clients navigating coverage options. She approaches every interaction with care, integrity, and a deep desire to help others feel secure and supported.
Outside of the office, Sherry enjoys a joyful life with her husband, Christopher, their two fur babies, and a growing legacy of 11 grandchildren. She’s a passionate crafter and painter who loves creating meaningful gifts for friends and family. Faith plays a central role in Sherry’s life, and she credits her relationship with the Lord as her guiding light.
Sherry’s current personal goal is to write and publish a children’s book—combining her creativity, love of family, and storytelling spirit into something truly special.
Kadence
Licensed Agent & Customer Service Representative
Kadence is a dedicated and knowledgeable insurance professional with over two years of industry experience. She earned her 4-40 Customer Representative License before even graduating high school and now holds a 20-44 Personal Lines License, specializing in home, auto, and specialty insurance. Her background includes working with major national carriers, where she gained valuable insight into the structure and strategy of large-scale insurance operations.
Today, Kadence thrives in the independent agency environment, where she can focus on building genuine relationships and offering tailored coverage to meet each client’s unique needs. Her commitment to client service and her strong community ties make her an invaluable part of the Historic Coast Insurance team.
A proud Saint Augustine local and Bartram Trail graduate, Kadence is passionate about giving back to the community. She enjoys supporting local schools through sponsorships and events, and loves being part of a team that shares her dedication to service. Outside of the office, she spends her time with her three dogs and cherishes the strong bonds she’s formed with her work family.
Catie
Licensed Agent & Office Administrator
Catie is the heart of our day-to-day operations at Historic Coast Insurance. As the office administrator and daughter of founder Shannon, Catie brings both dedication and a deep understanding of the values that drive our agency. A proud military member and mother, she balances structure and compassion to ensure every client receives timely, personalized service.
Catie holds a 2-20 General Lines Property & Casualty license, allowing her to support a wide range of client needs across home, auto, and commercial insurance. She plays a key role in policy management, client communication, and keeping our team organized and efficient behind the scenes. Her attention to detail, strong work ethic, and passion for helping families protect what matters most make her an essential part of the Historic Coast Insurance team.
Shannon Millican
Agency Principal & Retirement Specialist
Shannon brings over two decades of experience in insurance and financial services, with a career rooted in helping educators prepare for a fulfilling retirement after years of service to their communities. As the Agency Principal at Historic Coast Insurance, she now serves in an supervisory role while continuing to work exclusively in retirement and life insurance advising.
Shannon began her journey in the industry in 1999, gaining experience with several national carriers before launching her own agency in 2011. Over her 14-year tenure with Horace Mann Insurance, she became a trusted advisor for Florida educators, particularly those navigating the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and DROP program.
Now affiliated with Plan Member Services and BENCOR, Shannon has expanded her offerings and deepened her expertise to better serve the needs of public school employees. She holds General Lines and Life, Health & Variable Annuity licenses in both Florida and Colorado, as well as Series 6 and 63 registrations. She is currently preparing for the Series 65 to become a Registered Investment Advisor.
Shannon’s professional designations include:
• FSCP – Financial Services Certified Professional
• LUTCF – Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow
• RICP – Retirement Income Certified Professional
She has also qualified for MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) for four consecutive years and has been a proud member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors since 2015.
Her greatest joy is helping educators build financial confidence and security in retirement. Based in St. Johns County, Shannon remains passionate about giving back to the same community she’s served throughout her career.
